Description
4vets Low-Stress Veterinary Diet is a complete food for adult dogs covering all nutritional requirements. Thanks to the use of herbs and L-tryptophan, it helps to calm and relax your dog. It can complement behavioural therapy for anxiety disorders. It is also used for dogs experiencing discomfort due to various environmental factors. It is an easily digestible food that does not strain the digestive system.
Recommendations:
Before feeding the diet, it is recommended to contact your vet to determine the dosage. The dog should be fed at room temperature in at least two meals per day. When changing your dog’s diet, do so gradually over a period of approximately 5 days. The dog should be given constant access to fresh water to drink.
Distinguishing features:
High quality protein – the food is based on sources of complete animal protein with a very favourable amino acid composition. This makes it possible to provide the correct ratio of energy to building blocks necessary to maintain a constant body weight.
The presence of fatty acids – derived both from raw materials of animal origin (salmon oil) and flaxseed oil ensures maximum involvement of polyunsaturated fatty acids of the n-3 and n-6 families in the biochemical control of all important tissue functions.
L-tryptophan – the addition of this ingredient, in combination with the naturally occurring one in raw materials of animal origin, influences many functions of the organism, such as regulating metabolism (reduces appetite), by increasing the synthesis of vitamin B6, influences the metabolism of carbohydrates in the body, participates in the secretion of growth hormone, influences the levels of neurotransmitters: dopamine, norepinephrine and beta-endorphin (their levels increase after eating a meal rich in tryptophan).
Herbs – the presence of St John’s Wort (Hypericum L.) and valerian (Valeriana officinalis) in the food relieves tension and has an anti-anxiety effect, so that Low Stress can complement behavioural therapy for anxiety disorders. The introduction of the food is also recommended during periods of increased stress or situations of emotional tension during excursions. In addition, valerian can have a soothing effect on dogs with digestive problems caused by stress. The herb has a positive effect on the calming process, relaxation and supports the return to emotional balance.
L-carnitine – provides targeted and facilitated transport of medium-chain fatty acids to the mitochondria, where they are metabolised; the resulting lipolytic effect contributes to weight reduction.
Dried beer yeast (source of prebiotics: mannanooligosaccharides and β-glucans)- has a beneficial effect on the intestinal bacterial flora. Yeast also has a high biological value due to its high content of B vitamins. The use of yeast in the nutrition of young dogs is particularly important as it stimulates a wide range of immune responses.
Mojave yucca – the presence of this ingredient stimulates digestive functions, the absorption of nutrients from the digestive tract and stimulates its peristalsis. When added to the diet, it has the effect of reducing intestinal gas production and the intensity of faecal odour. In addition, Mojave yucca saponins exhibit antibacterial activity, which suppresses protozoan infections arising in the intestines, and polyphenols have an anti-inflammatory effect.
