Description
4vets Allergy Veterinary Diet is a complete dietary food for dogs with symptoms of food allergy or intolerance. It contains a single source of protein and increased amounts of Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids to soothe irritation, regenerate skin and reduce inflammation. The diet reduces the risk of diarrhoea due to food intolerance, which is caused by non-immune factors. Food allergy, on the other hand, is the body’s immunological response to contact with an allergenic protein. Epidemiological studies in dogs have noted that the main allergens are beef, wheat, chicken, chicken eggs and soya. Symptoms of food allergy are most often skin lesions and, less commonly, gastrointestinal symptoms, which may or may not accompany those related to the skin. In the case of both food allergies and intolerances, it is advisable to introduce an elimination diet involving the exclusion of unfavourable factors from the diet or a specialised veterinary diet such as 4vets Allergy.
Recommendations:
Before feeding the diet to your dog, it is recommended to contact your vet to determine the dosage. Use for a period of 3 to 8 weeks. When intolerance symptoms have resolved, the diet can be used indefinitely. Ensure that your dog has constant access to fresh water to drink.
Distinctives:
Dried beer yeast (source of prebiotics: mannanooligosaccharides and β-glucans) – support the immune system, improve digestion and take care of your dog’s normal bowel movements. They are a valuable source of easily digestible vitamins and minerals, increasing their pool in the food and improving their bioavailability in the dog’s digestive tract.
Zinc and selenium – influence regenerative processes, wound healing, the appearance of the skin and coat. Allergy food contains zinc in the form of a hydrated amino acid chelate, which is more easily absorbed by the body. Organic selenium produced by the Saccharomyces cerevisiae CNCM I-3060 strain increases the bioavailability of this element.
Grain free – the food is devoid of the hard to digest and often allergenic grain, the carbohydrate source has been replaced with a more digestible and healthier carbohydrate derived from potato starch.
One source of protein lamb is a source of complete protein high in all essential amino acids with a high digestibility coefficient. Protein with a high biological value is essential to ensure the correct absorption of all amino acids. In addition, this species of meat has valuable monounsaturated fatty acids.
Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids – their high content in the right proportions determines the biochemical control of inflammatory processes.
Seaweed meal – provides valuable biologically active compounds and is a source of easily digestible proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, vitamins and minerals (K, P, Mg, Ca, Cl, Na, Cl, S).
