Description
4vets Joint Mobility veterinary diet is a complete specialised food for dogs with osteoarthritis and cartilage disease, those with mobility problems, senior dogs and dogs with a breed predisposition to osteoarthritis. The most common cause of these conditions is overweight and obesity. The use of a diet enriched with chondroprotective substances reduces pain and inflammation and improves the mobility and regeneration of joint structures. It also helps to inhibit degenerative processes and cartilage degradation.
Recommendations:
Before administering the diet, it is recommended to contact your veterinarian to determine the dosage. Use initially for up to 3 months. Ensure that your dog has constant access to fresh water to drink.
Distinguishing features:
High quality protein- the food is based on sources of wholesome animal protein with a low fat content. The addition of hen’s egg raises the limiting amino acid ratio to a level that guarantees the correct ratio in the use of all amino acids. Thanks to the use of such protein sources, it is possible to provide the correct proportion of energetic and building components necessary for obtaining correct body weight – an essential condition in the prevention and treatment of osteoarthritis.
The presence of fatty acids – derived both from raw materials of animal origin (salmon oil) and flaxseed oil, ensures maximum involvement of polyunsaturated fatty acids from the Omega-3 and Omega-6 families in the biochemical control of pro-inflammatory cytokine formation in cartilage tissue, making it less susceptible to inflammatory processes.
Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) – the presence of the acid guarantees the preservation of physiological joint functions by specifically inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX-2) activity, thus controlling inflammatory processes and exhibiting analgesic properties. New Zealand green-lipped mussel – the use of New Zealand mussel powder has a positive effect on dogs with osteoarthrosis and supports osteoarthritis in dogs.
Chondroitin sulphate (shark cartilage extract) and glucosamine – the addition of two major chondroprotectants, makes Joint Mobility veterinary diet a product that, when used systematically, helps protect joints from degradation and influences their regeneration. Glucosamine is the building block of proteoglycans found in joint cartilage, improving joint mobility. Chondroitin has an analgesic effect and stabilises the joint gap width. This compound is also a powerful anti-inflammatory agent, inhibits cartilage breakdown and stimulates cartilage repair. It increases joint hydration, levelling the friction of cartilage joint surfaces. The richest source of chondroitin is cartilage tissue, such as shark cartilage. Joint Mobility diet uses chondroitin and glucosamine simultaneously, taking advantage of their synergistic effects.
L-carnitine – ensures targeted and facilitated transport of medium-chain fatty acids to the mitochondria, where they are metabolised. The resulting lipolytic effect contributes to weight reduction.
Dried beer yeast (source of prebiotics: mannanooligosaccharides and β-glucans) – has a beneficial effect on the intestinal bacterial flora. Yeast also has a high biological value due to its high content of B vitamins. The use of yeast in the nutrition of young dogs is particularly important as it stimulates a wide range of immune responses.
Mojave yucca – the presence of this ingredient stimulates digestive functions, the absorption of nutrients from the digestive tract and stimulates its peristalsis. When added to the diet, it has the effect of reducing intestinal gas production and the intensity of faecal odour. In addition, Mojave yucca saponins exhibit antibacterial activity, which suppresses protozoan infections arising in the intestines, and polyphenols have an anti-inflammatory effect.
Psyllium seeds (Plantago psyllium L.) – combine the properties of highly soluble fibre with low fermentability in the small intestine, exerting a positive effect on improving intestinal peristalsis. In addition, they have the ability to bind water and form a gel, thus normalising the passage of digestive contents.
